About the Role

We’re building an AI-first enablement team that modernizes enterprise architecture through automation, lightweight applications, internal tools, and generative AI. This hands-on engineering role focuses on designing and delivering practical software that improves efficiency, governance processes, and business capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer with deep Python expertise, solid development fundamentals, sound architectural judgment, and a strong grasp of database design, system architecture, testing, maintainability, and operational excellence.

AI should amplify productivity, not replace engineering judgment. The role supports the architecture function in adapting governance to the pace of GenAI while staying scalable, auditable, and principled. We’re looking for someone comfortable with ambiguity, engaged with the evolving AI landscape, and capable of turning loosely defined business needs into reliable software solutions.

Important: This is a software engineering position. We seek an experienced developer who uses AI to accelerate delivery, not someone who relies solely on prompts. AI-generated code must be reviewed, tested, refactored, and enhanced using strong engineering practices.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with senior technologists and users to identify workflow challenges and automation opportunities.
• Design and develop internal applications, APIs, dashboards, automations, AI agents, and reusable workflows.
• Convert GenAI trends, risks, and architectural patterns into practical governance solutions.
• Use tools such as Cursor, Claude, Codex, Amp, GitHub Copilot, and similar assistants to increase delivery speed while maintaining quality.
• Review and improve AI-generated code for security, performance, maintainability, testing, and architectural integrity.
• Create robust data models and access patterns for applications and automation solutions.
• Rapidly prototype, demonstrate, and iterate based on feedback while preserving software quality.
• Establish reusable patterns, integrations, and guardrails for AI-assisted development.
• Support non-developers and adjacent stakeholders in building responsibly within defined standards.

Required Qualifications

Strong Development Foundations

• Mandatory: 7-12 years of professional Python engineering experience with significant hands-on development.
• Proven experience designing, building, debugging, and operating production-grade software.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, testing, modularity, maintainability, and operational best practices.
• Experience developing APIs, services, automations, internal platforms, or web applications using FastAPI, Flask, Airflow, or similar frameworks.
• Solid understanding of database design, data modeling, SQL, data-access strategies, and performance trade-offs.
• Ability to make informed architectural decisions and communicate trade-offs effectively.
• Strong code-review skills, including identifying security risks, scalability concerns, fragile logic, and poor abstractions.

AI-Assisted Development

• Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools to build, debug, and deliver production-ready solutions efficiently.
• Ability to leverage AI as a productivity enhancer while maintaining full ownership of the codebase.
• Skilled at identifying and correcting AI-generated errors, including hallucinated APIs, insecure approaches, weak data models, poor error handling, and maintainability issues.
• Experience defining practical guardrails and best practices for responsible AI-assisted development.

AI & Agent Technologies

• 1-3 years of hands-on experience applying modern GenAI technologies in real-world scenarios.
• Experience with LLM applications, AI agents, prompt engineering, RAG, workflow orchestration, or agentic systems.
• Familiarity with technologies such as LangGraph, MCP, Agent SDKs, vector databases, retrieval pipelines, and related frameworks.
• Current knowledge of evolving AI models, coding agents, orchestration methods, evaluation techniques, and development tooling.

Communication & Problem Solving

• Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort working with loosely defined requirements.
• Experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to shape and refine solutions.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly and pragmatically to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong builder mindset, with a proven ability to turn ambiguous ideas into working products, automations, demos, or internal tools.
• Experience in startups, consulting, hackathons, developer productivity initiatives, internal platforms, or side projects.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs, SaaS solutions, enterprise data sources, and workflow systems.
• Proficiency with SQL, Pandas, vector databases, and data-driven automation use cases.
• Understanding of architecture governance, including standards, principles, controls, patterns, guardrails, and auditability.
• Experience creating lightweight enablement tools for architects, senior technologists, or governance-focused teams.
