Choose Your Country

Your country selection determines which job listings, freelance service requests, and localized content appear throughout BeBee. Choosing the right country ensures you see the most relevant opportunities for your location.

How Country Selection Works

When you first create your account, BeBee asks you to select your country. This setting controls:

  • Job listings -- Only jobs posted in or relevant to your selected country appear in your feed and search results.
  • Service marketplace -- Service requests and freelance opportunities are filtered to your region.
  • Currency and formatting -- Salary ranges, pricing, and date formats adjust to local conventions.
  • Language default -- Your language is auto-detected based on the country you choose, though you can override it manually.

How to Change Your Country

  1. Click on the country flag or name displayed in the navigation bar.
  2. Browse or search through the list of 99 supported countries.
  3. Select your preferred country.
  4. The page will reload with content tailored to your new selection.
You can change your country as often as you like. The switch is instant and does not require a page reload beyond the automatic refresh.

Choosing the Right Country

  • Select where you want to work, not necessarily where you live. If you are based in Mexico but looking for remote jobs posted in the United States, select the United States.
  • Check multiple countries if you are open to relocation. Switch between countries to compare the job market in different regions.
  • Consider local job volume. Larger markets like the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, and Canada tend to have the highest number of listings.

Country and Language

Your country selection automatically sets a default language for the interface. For example, selecting France sets French, and selecting Japan sets Japanese. However, BeBee supports 41 languages independently of country, so you can always override the default in your language settings.
