10 Month Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for:
- Managing the project engineering team.
- Setting the long-term fleet maintenance planning. They create the workload and budget associated with the asset by considering all the planned maintenance activities on the fleet: Exam, overhaul, reliability projects, modifications, variations etc.
- The control of fleet maintenance documentation: AMP, Work Instructions, Warranty, Modifications, etc.
- Overseeing the development and planning of projects, such as overhauls, modifications and defect repairs.
On occasion the Engineering Project Manager may be required to deputise for the Fleet Engineering Manager in terms of team management.
Maintenance Workload Planning (Period / Quarter / Year / 10 Year)
Creating a yearly resource / workload plan for each depot and each “production area” within them. This includes on tram production, pit lane, flat road, lifting jack, wheel lathe, bogie area, repair bay and other maintenance areas. This planning shall be created in accordance with the global availability of trams, resources, parts, and production capacity of each area.
Alongside this, the Engineering Project Manager is responsible for defining the preventive maintenance budget on each fleet, for the following year.
Resource / workload management
Creating and maintaining a resource tracker to manage the planning of preventative maintenance activities.
Creating work orders / templates in CMMS to prepare the workload for Fleet.
Using return of experience related to planning delivery and production time to adjust workload requirements. Inputs to this will include the time / resources required to deliver:
- Specific Exam types,
- Bogie changes,
- Depollution,
- Corrective work after exams (average),
- Planned modifications,
- Overhaul / reliability project.
- Tram availability,
- Resources on roster (annual leave, Training, other),
- Parts availability,
- Depot utilization,
Data management related to workload
Before integrating a preventive activity into the workload, validating the exhaustivity of the files produced by the engineers:
- Work instructions,
- Parts purchase order,
- Quantities,
- Tools / equipment,
- Resources,
- Costs
- Preventive / Corrective,
- Overhaul,
- Reliability Projects,
- Variations,
- Wheel turning / changes.
Supporting the Depot Manager to consolidate the full annual budget of the depot.
Fleet Maintenance Documentation
Manage the digital storage of the fleet maintenance documentation, including but not limited to:
- Annual Maintenance Plan,
- Work Instructions,
- Maintenance / Safety Bulletins,
- Toolbox Talks,
- Contracts,
- Key Performance Indicators,
- Projects Documents,
Communicating any changes in digital storage with the Depot Managers, Maintenance Team Managers, Lead Technicians, Training, etc.
Monitoring the warranty follow up on parts that have been overhauled / repaired by an external vendor or subcontractor.
Other Accountabilities
Ensuring synergies between the three depots regarding the way the planning / workload / budget is built, and the time / resources required to implement each maintenance operation.
Participating in continuous improvement in operational and technical aspects of the Fleet Maintenance department.
Project Manager for Engineering projects, as required. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Overhauls,
- Reliability Projects,
- Defect Rectification,
- Variations,
- Modifications,
This list is not exhaustive and may change depending on the company's activity.
Working hours: Office hours from Monday to Friday (39h/week contract)
Work location: Any of the three Luas depots. Travel between the depots, from time to time, is to be expected.
Remote Working: Some remote working may be allowed, at the discretion of the manager and depending on business priorities.
- Project Management: Ability to manage high profile projects with multiple stakeholders, which may occasionally have budgets in excess of 1 million euros.
- Strategic Vision: The post holder must have a clear vision of the production tools and methods of maximising capacity. They must be flexible with the ability to foresee unplanned events and put in place contingency plans.
- Problem Solving: The post holder must possess advanced analytical ability, problem solving and planning skills.
- Multitasking: Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities to meet critical deadlines
- Decision Making: The post holder must be able to make decisions, often based on limited information and defend these decisions if required.
- Communication: The post holder must be able to communicate ideas and information with other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Team working: The post holder must be a team player with a positive attitude and able to work with many different stakeholders.
- Self-direction: The role holder must have the ability to work independently, be highly motivated, accept ownership and responsibility with a highly developed ability to work under pressure and positively manage stress.
- Reporting: The post holder must be able to produce high quality reports for the purpose of communicating information to management, clients and safety authorities as required.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Minimum five years’ experience working in a maintenance environment or in an operational planning role.
- Minimum qualification: Degree in Engineering / Project Management (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent ICT skills with good knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems. Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- Knowledge of planning and financial software packages.
- Experience in data analysis.
- Management or supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of planning software packages.
