Job Description

At Version 1, we are passionate about delivering impactful digital transformation solutions for our customers. We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer (Java &

• Angular) to join our team.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining modern, scalable web applications, working across both front-end and back-end technologies.

This role offers the opportunity to work in an agile environment using modern technologies, cloud platforms, and engineering best practices while contributing to mission-critical services used by thousands of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot and Angular.
• Build responsive, accessible and user-centric web applications.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Contribute to solution design, technical architecture and estimation activities.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Perform unit, integration and system testing to ensure solution quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps ways of working.
• Contribute to technical discussions, innovation initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities.

Qualifications

Essential Skills &

• Experience

• Proven commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer.
• Strong experience developing applications using Java and the Spring Boot/Spring Framework ecosystem.
• Strong experience developing modern web applications using Angular.
• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with automated testing, unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams using Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience with application servers and containers such as Tomcat.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Experience delivering solutions within the UK public sector or GDS-aligned environments.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security principles.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
