I'm working with a leading global financial technology firm looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its engineering team, building high-performance trading applications used by financial professionals worldwide.

This is a backend-leaning full stack role, with a strong emphasis on Java development, backend services and API design, alongside React-based frontend development. You'll work on real-time applications where scalability, performance and reliability are critical.

The Role

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java.
  • Build and enhance real-time trading applications and financial technology platforms.
  • Develop frontend functionality using React, JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Design and integrate REST APIs and WebSocket-based services.
  • Work with databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL or KDB.
  • Collaborate closely with traders, quantitative teams and engineers to deliver business-critical solutions.
  • Contribute to technical architecture, engineering standards and system performance.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience in backend software engineering with Java.
  • Experience building scalable services, APIs and distributed applications.
  • Frontend development experience with React, JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, WebSockets and database design.
  • Strong object-oriented design and problem-solving skills.
  • Python experience is beneficial.
