Location- Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid)
· Lead the design and development of Java-based applications in the financial services sector.
· Oversee technical project delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
· Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and define technical specifications.
· Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
· Implement best practices for software development, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality deliverables.
· Monitor application performance and security, implementing necessary enhancements and optimizations.
· Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
· A strong background in retail financial services advisory (preferably 10 years of change management / project experience) and a proven ability to quickly understand the technology strategy and objectives
· Proven experience as a Tech Lead or similar role in software development, specifically using Java and Microservices.
· Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
· Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
· Familiarity with financial services regulations and compliance standards.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
· An IT background with a solid grounding in technology
· Experience of working in both Agile & waterfall SDLCs
· Communication, group dynamics, collaboration and continuous improvement are core – being best practice driven
· 2.1 or higher in a related discipline from an academic institution; Masters a plus
