QA Engineer

Role: Lead QA Engineer

Location: Cork, Ireland (Hybrid – 3 days onsite: Tue–Thu)

Type: Contract (3 Months)

Start Date: Immediate / Short Notice Preferred

Role Overview Seeking a Lead QA Engineer to define and drive quality strategy, build scalable test frameworks, and lead QA practices across the development lifecycle. This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and leadership capability.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Strategy

• Define and own QA strategy across teams
• Establish testing standards, processes, and best practices
• Build and maintain frameworks (Unit, Integration, E2E, Performance)
• Own release quality gates and sign-off processes

Technical Execution

• Design and maintain automated test suites
• Identify test coverage gaps and drive improvements
• Implement and advocate shift-left testing
• Analyse defects, test results, and quality metrics

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor QA engineers and guide best practices
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design teams
• Drive a culture of shared ownership of quality

Required Skills & ExperienceMust Have

• 5 years in QA / SDET / Software Testing
• 2 years in Lead / Senior QA role
• Strong test automation experience
• Solid understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices
• API testing experience
• Performance testing experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent stakeholder communication

Nice to Have

• Agile/Scrum environment experience
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience scaling QA in growing teams
• ISTQB certification
• Experience with Python and/or SwiftUI
