Optica Limited is one of East Africa's leading optical retail and eye care chains, providing primary and secondary eye care services across multiple branches.

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations including visual acuity, refraction, binocular vision assessment, colour vision, confrontation fields, and intraocular pressure measurement for paediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia, keratoconus, dry eye syndrome, blepharitis, keratitis, corneal ulcers and conjunctivitis (viral, bacterial, allergic).
• Fit and aftercare of soft, rigid gas-permeable, and specialist contact lenses including for post-surgical corneal irregularities.
• Co-manage pre- and post-operative patients following refractive (LASIK/PRK) and cataract surgery in liaison with ophthalmology teams.
• Screen for systemic disease manifestations in the eye, including diabetic retinopathy and hypertensive retinopathy, and refer appropriately to medical specialists.
• Operate and interpret clinical imaging including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), fundus photography, and visual field analysis (perimetry).
• Prescribe and dispense spectacles and contact lenses; counsel patients on lens options, frame selection and optical appliance care.
• Document all patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical records system (EMR).
• Maintain infection control standards and comply with relevant clinical governance protocols.
