Life can be difficult and at times we may need to seek professional help, this is where I can assist. No matter what you are dealing with I am a trained counsellor. I work with a holistic and Person-centred approach, incorporating mindfulness and self-care. I also worked as a mental health professional supporting individuals to be successful in achieving their recovery.
Within counselling sessions, I assist clients to utilise their strengths to help them sort out their challenges and achieve their goals. I provide empathy and warmth which creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can process and heal.
As each person is an individual, I will have an integrative approach tailoring treatment to meet the collaboratively defined goals and needs. I believe therapy is a collaborative process between therapist and client and every way I will help you move forward, identifying internal strengths to approach life’s challenges.
I strive to be a source of motivation and commitment for clients to take manageable steps toward bringing about understanding, healing, meaning, and a stronger sense of self.
I also offer couples counselling to help you explore relationship issues, whether you're facing communication problems, changes in the relationship, or any other concerns you may be experiencing. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for both partners to communicate.
I have extensive experience and training in counselling. I worked as a part-time volunteer counsellor with Nexus Northern Ireland, which is a leading organisation in Northern Ireland that supports individuals impacted by sexual abuse and abusive relationships. I have worked with several clients, ranging from 16 years old to adults, who have been affected by sexual trauma, childhood sexual abuse, and domestic abuse.
I also have a thriving private practice. I have offered counselling services and addressed a variety of presenting issues, including bereavement, low self-esteem, depression, alcoholism, relationship problems, stress, anxiety, anger issues, sexual difficulties, self-harm, suicide, and bullying. I currently work with Sligo Rape Crisis centre and I can offer face to face and online sessions.
