Interception Test Engineer
תיאור המשרה
The Interceptor Test Engineer owns the end-to-end engineering execution of interception tests - from planning through post-test analysis. This role is responsible for ensuring tests are safe, technically sound, and produce decision-quality data for engineering and program stakeholders. The engineer works closely with operations, systems engineering, quality assurance, and test field personel, to plan, execute, and analyze complex field trials involving munitions. Why Join us?This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of a defense-tech startup during its most exciting growth phase!ResponsibilitiesTest Planning & PreparationGather test objectives and requirements from requesting stakeholders and develop a detailed test plan (goals, success criteria, scenarios)Define measurement and instrumentation requirements (sensors, telemetry, high-speed cameras, etc.)Build test schedules while accounting for resource constraints, weather, range/field availability, etc.Identify technical risks in advance and define mitigation plansVerify system configuration prior to test executionSafetyHold overall responsibility for the end-to-end safety posture of the testPrepare and present materials to Safety BoardsDefine hazard areas, safety margins, and emergency proceduresEnsure compliance with organizational and regulatory safety standards and proceduresTest Readiness Review (TRR) LeadershipConsolidate and present engineering readiness for Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)Cross-Functional CoordinationWork closely with the Operations Team Lead to synchronize engineering requirements with field executionInterface with execution group, systems engineering teams, quality assurance, and other stakeholdersInterface with external suppliers/support providers as neededAnalysis & DeliverablesOwn the production of raw data and engineering deliverables from the test (data package)Conduct initial analysis of results against success criteria defined with engineeringWrite a summary test report: findings, deviations, conclusions, and recommendations for engineering approvalProduce Lessons Learned and feed them back into the next planning cycleDocumentation & ControlManage test documentation (procedures, protocols, approvals) in accordance with quality/regulatory requirementsTrack test plan versions and real-time change.Requirements: Proven experience leading complex field trials involving precision-guided munitions and complex safety scenariosExperience developing detailed test plans in coordination with stakeholders, including defining success criteria and test scenariosStrong understanding of measurement and instrumentation systems (sensors, telemetry, high-speed imaging)Experience presenting to Safety Boards and managing test safety end-to-endExperience leading or presenting Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)Strong cross-functional communication skills - ability to work effectively with operations, systems engineering, QA, and external suppliersExperience producing technical reports and data packages for engineering reviewFamiliarity with documentation control and quality/regulatory standards for testingRelevant engineering degree - e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or equivalent. This position is open to all candidates.
