Java Team Lead (Backend)

GTH Software is a leading software company specializing in large-scale online i-gaming platforms. We are looking for a hands-on Java Team Lead to join our Backend department and lead a small team while remaining actively involved in development.

Role overview

• Lead a team of 3–4 backend engineers
• Be hands-on 30–50% of the time, contributing directly to development
• Take ownership of backend design, code quality, and technical decision-making
• Participate in planning, estimations, and product discussions
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD and system reliability
• Interview and mentor team members

Requirements

• 5+ years of Java backend development experience
• 2+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role
• Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable backend systems
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design and best practices
• Experience working with databases and complex queries
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka and/or Elasticsearch
