D escription Nitzanim is a programming and cyber training initiative operating under the “Bnetivey Udi” association, in collaboration with the Cyber Defense and Telecommunications Directorate of the Israel Defense Forces. The program focuses on increasing the number of youth from socially and geographically peripheral areas, especially in the Negev, who serve in elite technological units. Nitzanim supports high school students with strong technological and mathematical orientation through structured training, mentoring, and empowerment.
The initiative emphasizes the development of analytical and logical skills, personal growth, and motivation for meaningful technological service. Participants are connected with role models and real-world pathways into advanced technology and cyber careers.
Role Description The Python Instructor role (מדריכי ומדריכות Python) is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Tel Aviv District, Israel, with the option to perform some tasks from home. The instructor designs and delivers engaging Python programming lessons for high school students, including planning curricula, preparing teaching materials, and leading classroom and small-group sessions. Daily responsibilities include explaining core programming concepts, guiding students through practical exercises and projects, and supporting them in developing problem-solving and analytical thinking.
The role also involves assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and collaborating with the program staff to continuously improve teaching methods and content. Instructors are expected to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers students and fosters motivation for advanced technological and cyber pathways.
Qualifications
- Strong Python programming skills, including core syntax, data structures, and problem-solving with code.
- Experience teaching, mentoring, or tutoring youth in technology or mathematics, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Ability to design lesson plans, exercises, and projects that are structured, engaging, and aligned with learning objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory instruction.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, combining on-site teaching in the Tel Aviv District with remote preparation and follow-up.
- High level of responsibility, patience, and motivation to empower students from diverse social and geographic backgrounds.
- Relevant academic background or practical experience in computer science, software development, or related fields; experience with cyber or networking concepts is an advantage.
- Familiarity with the Israeli education system and fluency in Hebrew; proficiency in English is an asset.
