Web Development Team Lead (WordPress)

Were looking for a Web Developer Team Lead to own and evolve our global, multilingual marketing website built on WordPress. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, brand, and technology and is accountable for website performance, scalability, and reliability across regions and languages.This is a hands-on leadership role. Youll lead a small web development team, actively contribute code, and set the technical direction for how we build, ship, test, and scale our marketing web platform.

Youll work closely with Marketing, Design, and external partners to deliver a best-in-class digital experience while continuously growing the teams technical maturity. What You'll Be Doing:Technical Ownership & DeliveryOwn the global marketing website end-to-end: architecture, performance, security, scalability, and reliabilityDesign, develop, and maintain WordPress sites using Bedrock and Sage, with Laravel-based architecture principlesBuild and maintain custom Gutenberg blocks and reusable componentsLead technical planning and execution for new features, integrations, and growth experimentsOptimize site performance, SEO, accessibility, and Core Web VitalsEnsure high availability through monitoring, maintenance, and incident responseTeam Leadership & GrowthLead and manage a web development team (minimum 3 years managing developers)Perform code reviews, define coding standards, and enforce best practicesMentor, coach, and grow developers technically and professionallyContinuously improve team velocity, quality, and technical excellenceEngineering ExcellenceEstablish and maintain development standards, documentation, and workflowsWork with modern local development environments (Docker-based)Own CI/CD pipelines using GitHub ActionsImplement and maintain QA, testing, and automation toolsManage infrastructure and edge configuration using Cloudflare and TerraformCollaborate effectively with external agencies and vendors, owning quality and outcomesRequirements: 6 years of web development experience with deep expertise in WordPressAt least 3 years of experience managing or leading a development teamStrong hands-on experience with Bedrock and Sage (Laravel-based WordPress stack)Solid PHP expertise with experience in Laravel / Symfony or similar frameworksStrong JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend tooling experienceProven experience managing multilingual websites at scaleExperience working closely with marketing and growth teams on high-visibility websitesStrong understanding of SEO, performance optimization, and accessibilityComfortable owning projects end-to-end in a fast-paced environmentExperience with modern hosting platforms (e.g., Upsub, WP Engine, Kinsta, Pantheon)Nice to Have:Experience with headless or hybrid WordPress architecturesFamiliarity with marketing tech integrations (CMS, CRM, analytics, experimentation tools)Experience in a global or B2B SaaS environment.This position is open to all candidates.
