AEM Backend/Platform Developer - Java/OSGI Framework

About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced AEM Backend / Platform Developer (i18n) to join our engineering team and build scalable backend solutions on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Cloud Service.

In this role, you will own the AEM platform layer, focusing on translation automation, localization workflows, admin content models, and multilingual content delivery for a headless e-commerce platform. You will work closely with frontend developers and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless content localization across multiple global markets while maintaining high platform reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain translation automation workflows, including schedulers, connectors, and job lifecycle management (Export ? TMS ? Import).
• Integrate and manage Translation Management Systems (TMS) such as Acolad and Phrase.
• Build and maintain admin content models and JSON key dictionaries for modules such as :

• Implement and manage multilingual content structures, locale-specific configurations, and translation workflows.
• Develop and maintain Sling Models, Sling Servlets, and backend APIs supporting headless applications.
• Configure and manage OSGi services, run modes, feature flags, scheduled jobs, and environment-specific configurations.
• Implement locale routing, language fallback mechanisms, and replication strategies across multiple regions (FR, CA-FR, EU-EN, etc.).
• Optimize backend services for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Support AEM Cloud deployments using Cloud Manager and ensure platform health.
• Perform Java upgrades, improve code quality, enhance test coverage, and resolve production issues.
• Work closely with frontend developers to deliver backend integrations for headless React applications.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and technical discussions.

Required Skills &

Qualifications :

• 510 years of overall software development experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Backend Development.
• Strong expertise in Java, OSGi, Apache Sling, and JCR.
• Experience developing Sling Models, Sling Servlets, and AEM Workflows.
• Strong understanding of AEM Cloud Service architecture.
• Experience with Maven, Dispatcher, replication, and deployment pipelines.
• Good understanding of multilingual content management and internationalization (i18n).
• Experience integrating Translation Management Systems (TMS).
• Familiarity with headless content delivery and JSON-based content models.
• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Nice to Have :

• Experience with Acolad or Phrase translation platforms.
• Knowledge of AWS S3 batch processing pipelines.
• Experience with locale routing and gallery/content localization.
• Adobe Experience Manager Certification.
• Experience in luxury retail or enterprise e-commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with GraphQL-based backend integrations.
