Job Description :
We are looking for an experienced API Automation Test Engineer with 68 years of experience in software testing, specializing in API Automation using Java.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in REST API automation, automation framework development, and CI/CD integration to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for REST APIs using Java.
- Develop and enhance API automation frameworks using Rest Assured and TestNG/JUnit.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end API testing.
- Validate API requests, responses, authentication, and business logic.
- Create, execute, and maintain automated test suites.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
- Perform backend validation using SQL queries.
- Integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Maintain test documentation, automation reports, and defect logs.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and automation best practices.
Mandatory Skills :
- 6 to 8 years of experience in Software Testing with strong API Automation expertise.
- Strong programming skills in Java.
- Hands-on experience with Rest Assured for API automation.
- Experience in REST API testing using Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Strong understanding of HTTP methods, REST architecture, authentication (OAuth, JWT, Basic Auth), and status codes.
- Experience with TestNG or JUnit frameworks.
- Knowledge of JSON, XML, and API request/response validation.
- Strong SQL skills for database validation.
- Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and Jenkins.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA or similar defect tracking tools.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.
