About The Job: We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to work side by side with other engineers to develop and maintain applications across the customer journey and lifecycle. You will collaborate and align with your colleagues to ensure deliverables comply with requirements and needs of our customers. This will include engineering managers, product managers, software and data engineers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and maintain APIs, tools and capabilities to centralise data events.
- Solve technical problems to improve our development process, increase our efficiency and unlock new business opportunities.
- Contribute to technical discussion around software architecture and help the team to make decisions that are agile, incremental and beneficial for the long term.
- Systematically identify patterns and underlying issues in complex situations, and to find solutions by applying logical and analytical thinking.
- Provide stable and well defined solutions to simplify and accelerate business decisions as well as strengthen the integrity of our payment pipelines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in software engineering with strong knowledge of at least one language like Java (Preferrable), Python or Golang.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field or 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty as equivalent.
- Proven experience with System Design and Software Architecture.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working with teams located in different timezones is a plus.
- Experience with Reliability, Site Reliability, Observability and Monitoring is a strong plus.
