About the Role :
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and database technologies who can take complete ownership of product features from design to production. The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding business requirements, driving technical discussions, designing scalable solutions, developing high-quality code, and ensuring successful delivery.
While the primary focus is on backend engineering, the candidate should also possess working knowledge of frontend technologies such as React and be comfortable contributing across the full stack when required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Own end-to-end delivery of product features, from requirement analysis and technical design to development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Design and build highly scalable, reliable, secure, and high-performance web applications and microservices.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Tech leads, QA Engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Drive technical design discussions and make architectural decisions that ensure scalability and maintainability.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
- Perform code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards, development processes, and system reliability.
- Analyze production issues, troubleshoot complex problems, and implement long-term solutions.
- Contribute to frontend development when required using React and modern web technologies.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and help drive continuous improvement within the team.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture.
Required Skills &
Experience :
Core Backend Skills :
- 4-6 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Strong expertise in Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience with ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, API design principles, and backend best practices.
- Experience designing and optimizing highly performant and scalable backend systems.
Database Expertise :
- Strong experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.
- Strong understanding of database design, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and performance tuning.
Frontend Skills :
- Working knowledge of React.js and modern JavaScript.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frontend application architecture.
- Ability to contribute to UI development and collaborate effectively with frontend engineers.
- Aware of tools like Vite, Prettier, ESLint.
Engineering Practices :
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and engineering best practices.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Good to Have :
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Linux system knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Exposure to observability, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Experience building cost-efficient and highly available cloud-native applications.
