Role Overview :
As a Database Administrator, you will serve as the custodian of our global data infrastructure, ensuring that our immigration processing platforms remain highly available and performant. You will work closely with software engineering teams and system architects to design scalable schemas, optimize query execution, and maintain rigorous security protocols. Your efforts will directly impact the efficiency of our case management systems, ensuring that sensitive client information is handled with precision and that our digital services remain uninterrupted for users across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities :
- Architect and maintain high-availability database environments to support 24/7 global operations and ensure zero downtime for critical immigration workflows.
- Execute comprehensive performance tuning strategies to minimize latency in complex data retrieval processes for internal stakeholders.
- Manage end-to-end backup and disaster recovery operations to safeguard sensitive client data against system failures or security breaches.
- Lead large-scale data migration projects during system upgrades or cloud transitions, ensuring data consistency and minimal service disruption.
- Implement and enforce advanced database security measures, including encryption and access control, to maintain compliance with international data protection standards.
- Conduct proactive troubleshooting of database bottlenecks and connectivity issues to maintain optimal system health and user experience.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in Database Administration and Database Architecture, with a deep understanding of relational database management systems and SQL optimization.
- Proven ability to manage complex backup administration tasks and execute data migration strategies in distributed, multi-location environments.
- Strong analytical mindset for troubleshooting performance issues and identifying root causes in high-traffic database environments.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams and translate business requirements into robust database solutions.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or distributed team setup, maintaining high standards of documentation and operational discipline.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by 3 to 14 years of hands-on experience in managing enterprise-level database systems.
