Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Engineer SQL at PPStack. The Engineer SQL will design, develop, and optimize SQL-based databases and data models to support PPStack’s learning platforms, analytics, and operational systems.

Day-to-day responsibilities include writing complex SQL queries, building and maintaining ETL pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity, and collaborating with product, engineering, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into efficient database solutions. The role will also involve performance tuning, troubleshooting data issues, documenting database structures and processes, and contributing to the continuous improvement of PPStack’s data architecture.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Database Development and Database Design for scalable, secure, and efficient systems.
• Candidates should possess practical experience in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, including building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Candidates should possess solid Data Modeling skills for relational and analytical use cases.
• Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify patterns, and solve complex data-related problems.
• Proficiency in SQL (including query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning).
• Experience with at least one major relational database platform (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms or data warehouses (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, BigQuery) is beneficial.
• Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, collaborate across teams, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
