Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Lead (Backend & Platform) to join their exciting initiative focused on building a next-generation Remote Diagnostic & Predictive Maintenance System (RDPMS) for railway signalling systems.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the development of a mission-critical Industrial IoT platform, driving architecture, engineering excellence, and innovation in predictive maintenance.
Looking for professionals with:
- 6 to 10 years of software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in Python/Java and distributed systems
- Experience with Microservices, REST APIs, Kafka/RabbitMQ/MQTT
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures
- A strong ownership mindset and passion for building high-performing teams

Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and oversee the development of highly scalable microservices to ensure the backend infrastructure can handle massive streams of industrial sensor data with minimal latency.
- Lead the end-to-end design and deployment of cloud-native applications on AWS, ensuring that our platform remains resilient, secure, and cost-effective for enterprise-grade deployments.
- Orchestrate containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes to streamline deployment pipelines and maintain high availability across distributed systems.
- Implement and optimize event-driven architectures using Kafka to facilitate reliable, real-time data streaming between edge devices and our centralized cloud platform.
- Mentor a team of talented backend engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, code quality, and continuous improvement through rigorous design reviews and collaborative problem-solving.
- Partner with stakeholders to define technical roadmaps, ensuring that our system architecture evolves in alignment with emerging industrial IoT trends and business objectives.
