Engineering Manager - Java/Node.js

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead high-performing software engineering teams and drive the successful delivery of scalable, high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Java, Node.js, and AI technologies, along with proven experience in engineering leadership, technical strategy, team mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and manage high-performing software engineering teams.
• Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, career development discussions, and technical mentoring.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.

Product

Delivery:

• Drive end-to-end product development, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, QA, and DevOps teams to define project scope, priorities, and timelines.
• Manage sprint planning, resource allocation, and execution in an Agile environment.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address risks and dependencies.

Technical

Strategy & Architecture:

• Define and execute the technical roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Provide architectural guidance for scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.
• Drive the adoption of engineering best practices, coding standards, and design principles.
• Evaluate and implement modern technologies and frameworks to improve development efficiency.

Software

Development:

• Provide technical leadership for applications built using Java and Node.js.
• Guide teams in designing and developing robust APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Leverage AI technologies to build intelligent, data-driven product capabilities where applicable.
• Participate in architecture reviews and critical technical decision-making.

5. Quality & Operational Excellence:

• Ensure high standards of code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Improve system reliability, performance, scalability, and security.
• Drive engineering metrics, technical debt reduction, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimize deployment pipelines and production operations.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, Architects, and Customer Success teams.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Communicate technical decisions and project updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8-15 years of software engineering experience, including experience in engineering leadership or people management.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Node.js.
• Experience designing and developing scalable, cloud-native applications and microservices.
• Exposure to AI/ML technologies, Generative AI, or AI-powered product development is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern software development practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
