About the Role :
We are seeking a visionary, highly technical, and strategic Engineering Manager to lead the development and scaling of our next-generation payment gateway infrastructure. In this role, you will lead a team of high-performing engineers, driving the technical roadmap for high-throughput, low-latency transaction processing systems. This role demands a unique blend of deep technical expertise in Java/Distributed Systems, extensive FinTech/Payments domain knowledge, and a proven track record of empathetic, impactful engineering leadership.
Key Responsibilities :
- Team Leadership &
- Mentorship : Lead, mentor, and grow a talented team of 8 to 15 software engineers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Architecture &
- Strategy : Drive the architectural vision, design, and implementation of highly scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant payment APIs and microservices.
- Delivery &
- Execution : Own the end-to-end delivery of complex engineering roadmaps, ensuring high-quality code deployment, rigorous testing, and optimal system performance.
- Stakeholder Alignment : Collaborate closely with Product Management, Risk &
- Compliance, Operations, and external banking partners to align technical execution with business strategy.
- Production Excellence : Champion best practices for CI/CD, system monitoring, security compliance (PCI-DSS), and high availability (99.99% uptime).
Required Qualifications &
Experience :
- Tech Stack Expertise : Strong, hands-on roots in Java (Core Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate), microservices architecture, and distributed computing.
- Domain Expertise : Deep understanding of the Payments/FinTech domain (e.g., payment gateways, merchant acquiring, switching networks, ledgers, card networks, or UPI ecosystems).
- System Design : Proven track record of building and managing high-volume transaction systems capable of handling thousands of TPS (Transactions Per Second).
- Data &
- Cloud : Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis) and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
