About the Role :
This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in modern backend technologies and a passion for building high-performing, observable, and maintainable systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the technical execution of the Phoenix Stability Plan across multiple engineering teams and domains.
- Drive improvements in code quality, including refactoring legacy code, increasing unit test coverage and resolving critical issues flagged by tools like SonarQube and Mend.
- Champion observability by ensuring full integration with APM/RUM tools, building consolidated dashboards, and implementing robust alerting across scheduled and streaming jobs.
- Architect and implement a data consistency and lineage framework to validate and monitor data across collection, preparation, and analytical systems.
- Oversee performance optimization, including reducing API response times, streamlining UI workflows, and implementing distributed caching (e.g., Redis).
- Lead the transition to config-driven capability enablement, including dynamic configuration refresh, feature flags, and clean isolation of practice-specific implementations.
- Ensure 1Stack readiness, including containerization of legacy applications, adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated schema deployments using Liquibase.
- Guide the modernization of the tech stack, including migration from monolithic Angular to EKO-based Micro Frontends, consolidation of databases to Postgres, and optimization of Kafka streaming pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architecture with enterprise standards and business goals.
Preferred candidate profile :
8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
- Expertise in Java, React JS/ Angular, Spring Boot, Kafka, Redis, Postgres, and MongoDB.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, unit testing frameworks, and code quality tools (e.g., SonarQube, SonarLint).
- Proven track record in leading modernization efforts, including cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerization.
- Hands-on experience with observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, New Relic) and monitoring streaming systems.
- Familiarity with feature flagging, config-driven development, and dynamic deployment strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
