Lab378.ai is an early-stage UK startup building an AI-powered property portal for the US market. We're reimagining how people search for, discover, and evaluate real estate — using AI voice, intelligent search, and deep MLS integration to create an experience that's faster, smarter, and more intuitive than anything that exists today.

About the Role

We already have a US-based team member, and now we're looking for our first India-based engineering hire — someone who can cover UK hours and bridge naturally into the US working day. Your core responsibility will be building out the AI property portal itself: the features, integrations, and intelligence that make it genuinely useful for users navigating the US real estate market.

This is a mid-level full-stack role with real ownership. You'll work directly with the founders, contribute to architectural decisions, and ship features that users interact with every day. Working hours are primarily aligned to UK time (IST afternoons), with flexibility to overlap into US hours as needed.

What You'll Work On

• Building and iterating on the core AI property portal — search, discovery, property detail, and user flows
• Developing and integrating AI voice features, enabling users to search and interact with listings through natural conversation
• Integrating with MLS (Multiple Listing Service) data feeds and APIs to power real-time, accurate US property listings
• Designing and improving search algorithms — relevance ranking, filtering, geospatial search, and personalisation
• Building backend services in Python and frontend features in React and/or Vue
• Working with AI/ML APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, and similar) to power intelligent features throughout the product
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines, Docker-based workflows, and cloud deployments

What We're Looking For

Must-Have

• 3–5 years of professional full-stack software development experience
• Strong Python backend skills (APIs, data pipelines, business logic)
• Frontend proficiency with React and/or Vue
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, or similar)
• Comfortable working independently across time zones with strong async communication
• Based in India, available to work UK hours (IST afternoons) with some US overlap

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with US real estate data, MLS APIs, or proptech products
• Familiarity with voice AI, speech-to-text pipelines, or conversational UI
• Experience building or tuning search systems (Elasticsearch, vector search, or similar)
• DevOps experience: Docker, GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD, AWS/GCP/Azure
• Prior experience at an early-stage or international startup
