Job Summary
We are seeking a Java Application Developer with 3–5 years of relevant software industry experience to design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications. This hybrid role is based in Bengaluru and requires strong Core Java, J2EE, Struts, database, and integration skills, along with a focus on performance, security, scalability, and clean code.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Core Java and J2EE technologies.
- Build scalable and maintainable web applications with the Struts framework, following established engineering practices.
- Refactor and enhance existing applications for performance, security, reliability, and scalability.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts that automate build, deployment, and monitoring processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Support legacy application migrations to modern Java/J2EE platforms with minimal disruption.
- Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and improve overall code quality.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to improve release efficiency and reduce deployment risk.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3–5 years of relevant professional software development experience.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Practical understanding of clean-code principles, design patterns, and secure development practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid, cross-functional engineering environment.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong Core Java expertise, including object-oriented programming, multithreading, collections, exception handling, and design patterns.
- Hands-on J2EE experience with Servlets, JSP, and JDBC.
- Practical experience building structured web applications using Struts.
- Strong XML knowledge for data representation, configuration, and systems integration.
- Experience developing and consuming SOAP and REST web services.
- Strong relational database and SQL skills, including optimized queries, stored procedures, JDBC connectivity, and transaction management.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with JBoss Application Server.
- Shell scripting for operational automation and DevOps workflows.
- Legacy Java/J2EE application migration, optimization, and modernization experience.
- Exposure to capital markets or investment management domains.
- Familiarity with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, RESTful services, JPA, and Hibernate.
- Experience re-architecting or containerizing applications with Docker or Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as ELK, Prometheus, or CloudWatch.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven, and Gradle.
