About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend applications for enterprise-grade systems. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Core Java, modern Java frameworks, relational and NoSQL databases, and cloud-native application development.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as AMP, Claude Code, or similar coding agents will be a significant advantage.
In this role, you will work closely with architects, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to build robust backend services, optimize application performance, and contribute to the delivery of innovative software solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
1.
Backend Application Development :
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Core Java and the Spring ecosystem.
- Build high-performance, secure, and reliable enterprise applications following object-oriented design principles.
- Develop reusable, maintainable, and production-ready code adhering to coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
2.
Core Java Development :
- Utilize advanced Core Java concepts including Class Loading, Garbage Collection, Java Collections Framework, Reflection API, Java Streams, Functional Programming, and Concurrency.
- Develop efficient multithreaded applications and optimize application performance.
- Implement robust exception handling, logging, and application monitoring mechanisms.
3. Frameworks &
- API Development :
- Develop backend services using Spring Framework, including Spring Boot.
- Implement validation using JSR-303 (Bean Validation).
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs for enterprise integrations.
- Utilize JUnit for unit testing and Logback for application logging.
- Leverage Apache Commons libraries to improve development efficiency.
4.
Database Development :
- Design, develop, and optimize database solutions using DB2 and MongoDB.
- Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and schema design.
- Work with both relational and NoSQL databases to support enterprise applications.
5. AI-Assisted Development :
- Utilize AI coding assistants such as AMP, Claude Code, or similar tools for code generation, debugging, documentation, and development productivity.
- Apply AI-assisted workflows while maintaining code quality and engineering standards.
- Explore modern AI-driven development practices to improve software delivery.
6. Cloud &
- Modern Technologies :
- Work with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
- Support data engineering and analytics solutions using Databricks and Snowflake.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment, automation, and cloud infrastructure.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and cloud-native development practices.
7. Workflow &
- Process Automation :
- Work with BPMN, DMN, and Camunda 7/8 for workflow automation and business process orchestration, where applicable.
- Collaborate with business teams to implement workflow-driven applications and process automation solutions.
8. Quality &
- Collaboration :
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Perform code reviews and maintain high coding standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with architects, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6-9 years of experience in Java backend development.
- Strong expertise in Core Java internals, including Collections, Streams, Concurrency, Reflection API, Class Loading, and Garbage Collection.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JSR-303, JUnit, Logback, and Apache Commons.
- Strong knowledge of DB2, SQL, and MongoDB.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as AMP, Claude Code, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake is preferred.
- Familiarity with BPMN, DMN, and Camunda 7/8 will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
