Java/GCP Engineer

Job Description :

We are looking for a Java + GCP Engineer with strong experience in designing and developing scalable backend systems and deploying cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate should have strong Java and microservices expertise, hands-on experience with GCP services and Terraform, and a good understanding of CI/CD and cloud architecture.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend applications and microservices on GCP.
• Develop robust backend services and REST APIs using Java, with Python exposure being an advantage.
• Design and implement complex, high-performance microservices and distributed backend systems.
• Work extensively with GCP services including Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and Apigee.
• Design and implement infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
• Work with GCP database services such as Cloud SQL and Cloud Spanner.
• Contribute to application architecture, technical design, and cloud solution discussions.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding, design, security, and performance best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and feedback to junior developers.
• Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, deployment, and production issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, architecture, and other cross-functional teams to deliver reliable cloud solutions.

Required Skills :

• 3 - 8 years of experience in Java backend development and cloud engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java and backend application development.
• Strong experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Good experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and Apigee.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, or similar cloud databases.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, backend architecture, scalability, and performance.
• Experience with Python is an advantage.
• Good understanding of cloud security, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting practices.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with code reviews and mentoring junior developers.
