Lead Full Stack Developer - Node.js/TypeScript

SEWB is an AI-powered preventive healthcare platform building secure, scalable and intelligent digital health solutions across web, mobile and cloud. We are seeking an experienced Lead Full Stack Developer with deep backend expertise to lead platform engineering, API architecture and cloud-native application development.

Role Overview:

This is a hands-on technical leadership role with a strong emphasis on backend engineering. The successful candidate will lead the design, development and operation of scalable Node.js services while guiding Flutter mobile development, cloud architecture, integrations, security and engineering best practices. Approximately 7080% of the role focuses on backend architecture, APIs, integrations and platform engineering, with the remaining effort supporting frontend/mobile delivery.

Experience:

• 8-12 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer or Software Architect.
• Experience delivering enterprise SaaS or HealthTech platforms in production.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead architecture, development and optimisation of scalable Node.js/TypeScript backend services.
• Design RESTful APIs, authentication, authorisation, microservices and event-driven integrations.
• Guide Flutter mobile application development for Android and iOS.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Business Analysts, UX/UI, QA and DevOps to deliver high-quality software.
• Own code quality, coding standards, pull request reviews and technical mentoring.
• Design scalable database solutions using PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, monitoring and production support.
• Optimise performance, reliability, scalability and cloud costs.
• Work closely with the AI team to integrate LLMs, AI services and intelligent workflows.
• Champion secure software development, OWASP practices and healthcare compliance.

Core Technical Skills :

• Expert Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js and asynchronous programming.
• Flutter and Dart for cross-platform mobile development.
• REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets and API Gateway.
• PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and database optimisation.
• Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform (desirable) and containerised deployments.
• Azure (preferred), AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
• GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or equivalent CI/CD.
• Microservices, event-driven architecture, message queues and distributed systems.
• OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, Cognito/Entra ID and secure authentication.
• Testing frameworks, performance profiling and production debugging.

Preferred Experience :

• HealthTech, EMR/EHR, Telehealth or regulated platforms.
• FHIR, HL7 or healthcare interoperability.
• LLM integration, MCP, AI APIs and vector databases.
• Experience building highly available, enterprise-scale backend platforms.

Education :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Master's degree desirable.
• Equivalent industry experience with an exceptional delivery record will also be considered.

First 90-Day Deliverables :

• Understand SEWB platform architecture and engineering standards.
• Review and optimise backend architecture.
• Implement at least one major backend capability and production release.
• Improve API performance, security and observability.
• Establish engineering standards and mentoring practices.
