Role Overview:
As a Lead Python Developer, you will spearhead the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance backend systems that serve as the backbone of our digital infrastructure. You will work in close collaboration with cross-functional product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable, robust technical solutions. By driving architectural decisions and championing best practices, you will directly influence the reliability and speed of our platform, ensuring a seamless experience for our global user base while mentoring junior talent to elevate the overall engineering standard of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement scalable backend services using Python frameworks to support high-traffic applications and improve system throughput.
- Design and optimize complex database schemas and queries in PostgreSQL to ensure data integrity and high-speed retrieval for critical business operations.
- Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle of RESTful webservices, ensuring seamless integration between internal systems and external client-facing APIs.
- Automate deployment pipelines and infrastructure management using CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes to reduce time-to-market and enhance system stability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate abstract business goals into technical roadmaps, ensuring alignment between engineering output and company objectives.
- Conduct rigorous code reviews and establish engineering standards to maintain high code quality and minimize technical debt across the codebase.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in building production-grade applications using Python, Django, Flask, and FastAPI, with a deep understanding of asynchronous programming and performance tuning.
- Proven ability to manage cloud-native environments on AWS, leveraging containerization and orchestration tools to maintain highly available distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and PostgreSQL, with a focus on database optimization and managing large-scale data structures.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and lead collaborative team discussions.
- A proactive mindset toward problem-solving, with the adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment across our Bangalore and Gurgaon offices.
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field, complemented by 7 - 10 years of hands-on experience in backend engineering and system architecture.
