YOUR IMPACT

As a Lead Software Developer at OpenText, you will provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and delivering enterprise software solutions. You will apply strong technical expertise to complex product development, system analysis, integration, troubleshooting, and technology implementation.

You will work across teams to drive technical solutions, ensure product interoperability, and support the delivery of high-quality, scalable applications within an Agile development environment.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS:

• Lead the design and development of complex enterprise applications and software components.

• Create high-quality architecture and detailed technical design specifications.

• Design solutions that support multiple platforms and devices.

• Develop and integrate web-based applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and web services.

• Build scalable applications with a focus on performance, security, and reliability.

• Develop complex framework components and integrations.

• Conduct technical POCs and provide estimates for integration and technology decisions.

• Lead software design and code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to engineering standards.

• Guide and mentor senior developers and other team members.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure interoperability across products.

• Identify practical solutions that balance business requirements, technical complexity, risk, and effort.

• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, from design through release, using Agile methodologies.

• Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices and support continuous improvement.

What you will need to succeed:

Must-Have Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 8+ years of enterprise product development experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java/J2EE and HTML.

• Strong experience with Spring Boot and cloud application development.

• Strong object-oriented programming, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience developing web-based applications.

• Strong experience with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and HANA.

• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.

• Good understanding of microservice architecture, high-level and low-level design, middleware/application servers, and infrastructure.

• Experience building scalable applications.

• Experience with SOAP, WSDL, XML, XML Schema, and XPath.

• Understanding of performance and security considerations in enterprise applications.

• Experience with Agile software development processes.

• Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps tools and practices.

• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

• Ability to use AI tools as part of regular software development activities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• People management or team leadership experience.

• Experience with responsive design and multi-platform application development.

• Experience with mobile products and applications.

• Experience in the content management domain.

• Experience with OpenText products.

• Experience delivering technical POCs and evaluating integration or technology options.
