Node.js Developer

Join Data Eminence as a remote Node.js Developer and contribute to building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications and services. You will work on server-side development, REST APIs, database integration, authentication, third-party services, and backend application logic.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of JavaScript and backend development and enjoys building reliable APIs and solving technical problems. This role provides hands-on experience with Node.js, modern backend frameworks, databases, testing, deployment, and production-oriented software development.

Full Description

At Data Eminence , we build modern technology solutions supported by reliable and scalable backend systems. As a Node.js Developer, you will work closely with frontend developers, product managers, designers, and other technical teams to develop backend services and APIs that power web and mobile applications.

Your responsibilities will include

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Node.js.
• Build scalable and maintainable RESTful APIs.
• Implement business logic and server-side application functionality.
• Work with Express.js or other Node.js backend frameworks.
• Design and integrate database systems for application requirements.
• Write efficient SQL queries and work with relational databases.
• Work with MongoDB and other NoSQL databases where required.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control.
• Integrate third-party APIs, payment services, and external platforms.
• Develop CRUD operations and data-processing workflows.
• Validate requests and implement appropriate error handling.
• Optimize API performance, database queries, and backend processes.
• Write unit and integration tests for backend functionality.
• Debug and troubleshoot application, API, and database issues.
• Use Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Participate in code reviews and follow clean-code practices.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure effective API integration.
• Assist with deployment, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
• Maintain API documentation and technical documentation.
• Follow security and data-protection best practices.
• Stay updated with modern Node.js technologies and backend development practices.

You will gain practical experience with Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Express.js, REST APIs, SQL, MongoDB, Prisma, authentication, Postman, Git/GitHub, Docker, cloud deployment, API security, and AI-assisted development tools . This is a hands-on backend development role where you will build real APIs and services, integrate databases and external platforms, troubleshoot production issues, and develop the skills required to create reliable and scalable Node.js applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in Node.js development or relevant academic/personal projects.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript and programming fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Node.js and Express.js.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, and JSON.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts.
• Familiarity with Prisma or another ORM is a plus.
• Experience with Git and GitHub.
• Familiarity with Postman or similar API-testing tools.
• Basic understanding of asynchronous programming and error handling in Node.js.
• Knowledge of Docker and cloud deployment is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
