About the Role :
We are hiring an experienced OLS Software Developer to contribute to the design and development of a ORM's next-generation Optical Line System (OLS) software. The developer will work closely with the Lead Engineer and Architect to implement, integrate, and validate software modules for optical line systems. A strong background in embedded C development and telecom/optical systems is essential.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop software modules for OLS lineside functionality under guidance of the Lead Engineer.
- Implement features per detailed low-level design specifications.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented C code following coding standards.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprint ceremonies.
- Collaborate with the test team on unit and integration test support.
- Debug and resolve software defects across development and integration phases.
- Contribute to software documentation including design documents and user guides.
- Work within Agile Scrum teams to meet sprint and release commitments.
Technical Requirements :
- Solid knowledge of optical networking concepts : DWDM, amplifiers, ROADM, OTDR.
- Proficient in C and object-oriented programming.
- Hands-on experience with embedded Linux development.
- Understanding of multi-threaded programming and real-time system constraints.
- Familiarity with network management protocols (NETCONF, YANG, SNMP).
- Experience with debugging tools, GDB, Valgrind, or similar.
- Comfortable with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to telecom or optical embedded platform development.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have :
- Prior OEM or equivalent vendor optical platform experience.
- Exposure to optical performance monitoring, PM counters, or alarm management.
- Familiarity with Python scripting for automation or testing support.
- Knowledge of AI/ML basics applied to optical network analytics.
