Online Python Coding Tutor- US Shift

Company Description Codeyoung provides coding courses for learners aged 5 to 17, with a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on learning. The curriculum is designed with clear, age-appropriate learning goals to help students build real-world coding skills. Sessions are highly interactive and student-centric, encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity. Codeyoung aims to create an engaging online environment where young learners feel supported and empowered to explore technology.

Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for an Online Python Coding Tutor supporting learners during US shifts. The tutor will conduct live, interactive online classes, guiding students through Python concepts, coding exercises, and projects.

Responsibilities include explaining programming fundamentals in a clear and engaging way, answering student questions, providing timely feedback on assignments, and adapting teaching methods to different learning styles and age groups. The tutor will also help design or refine lesson plans, track student progress, communicate with parents or guardians when needed, and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment. Regular availability during designated US hours and reliable internet connectivity are essential.

Shift timings- AUS - 08:30AM - 02:30PM (6 hours mandatory)

UK - 08:30PM - 02:30AM (6 hours mandatory)

US - 02:30AM - 08:30AM (6 hours mandatory)

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Communication and Training skills to explain concepts clearly, lead interactive sessions, and support diverse learners.
• Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills and Research abilities to solve coding challenges, debug issues, and stay updated on Python and teaching best practices.
• Candidates should possess Writing skills to create or refine lesson plans, assignments, and feedback that are clear, concise, and age-appropriate.
• Proficiency in Python programming, including core concepts (data types, control flow, functions, and basic data structures) and introductory project work.
• Prior experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring in coding or STEM subjects, especially with children or teenagers, is highly beneficial.
• Comfort with online teaching platforms, screen sharing tools, and collaborative coding environments.
• Ability to work independently, manage part-time schedules aligned with US shifts, and maintain a professional remote work setup.
• A degree or coursework in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Education, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if skills and experience are demonstrated.
