Role Overview :
As a PostgreSQL Developer at Sysmind, you will be at the heart of our data engineering initiatives, responsible for designing and maintaining robust database architectures that support high-traffic applications. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, data analysts, and product stakeholders to translate business requirements into efficient database schemas. Your work will directly influence system reliability, data integrity, and the overall performance of the platforms we build for our global clientele.
Key Responsibilities :
- Architect and implement scalable database schemas and data models that align with complex application requirements to ensure long-term data integrity.
- Develop and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, and triggers to automate business logic and ensure consistent data processing across the application layer.
- Conduct deep-dive performance tuning and query optimization to reduce latency and improve the throughput of high-volume database transactions.
- Manage database administration tasks using pgAdmin, including monitoring system health, managing user permissions, and ensuring secure data access.
- Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum framework to participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and technical design discussions to meet project milestones.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production database issues to minimize downtime and maintain high availability for end-users.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in PostgreSQL development, with a deep understanding of advanced SQL, indexing strategies, and concurrency control.
- Proven ability to design normalized and denormalized data models that support complex reporting and transactional needs.
- Strong analytical skills to identify bottlenecks in execution plans and implement effective query optimization techniques.
- Experience working in fast-paced Agile or Scrum environments, with a focus on delivering high-quality, production-ready code.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate technical database constraints and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid or on-site environment across our Chennai and Bangalore offices, collaborating seamlessly with distributed teams.
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, supported by 4 - 8 years of hands-on experience in database development.
