Python Backend Developer - FastAPI/ORM

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and REST APIs using Python.
• Build backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Develop efficient data-processing workflows and integrations.
• Design and optimize relational database schemas using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent databases.
• Implement query optimization, indexing, and efficient database operations.
• Work with ORMs such as SQLAlchemy or equivalent technologies.
• Integrate LLM APIs from providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models into backend applications.
• Develop and optimize prompts for different business use cases through effective prompt engineering.
• Work with agent frameworks such as LangChain or similar frameworks where required.
• Build secure, scalable, and production-ready AI-powered backend services.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and AI teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Implement automated testing, monitoring, and performance improvements.
• Follow software development best practices including version control, code reviews, and documentation.

DevOps & Cloud Responsibilities:

• Work with Git and CI/CD pipelines for automated development and deployment.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy/manage workloads using Kubernetes.
• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Support production deployments, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices is an added advantage.

Required Candidate Profile:

• 5 - 9 years of experience in backend/software development with strong Python expertise.
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend application development.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and backend architecture.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent relational databases.
• Strong understanding of SQL, query optimization, indexing, schema design, and ORMs.
• Practical experience integrating LLM APIs into backend applications.
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering and LLM-based application development.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Good to Have:

• Experience with LangChain or similar agent frameworks.
• Experience working with open-source LLMs.
• Knowledge of AI agents, RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience building AI-powered products or enterprise GenAI applications.
