Job Description : Python Backend Engineer – FastAPI & Agentic AI

About the Role :

We are looking for a skilled Python Backend Engineer with hands-on experience in FastAPI, asynchronous backend development, data ingestion pipelines, and Agentic AI systems. The role involves designing and maintaining high-performance backend services, building multimodal data processing pipelines, developing LLM evaluation frameworks, and implementing intelligent agentic workflows. The ideal candidate should have strong Python programming skills, practical experience with AI-powered systems, and the ability to write clean, simple, scalable, and maintainable code.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Backend Development & API Engineering

• Design, develop, optimize, and maintain asynchronous backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Build high-performance APIs capable of handling high-volume requests with minimal latency.
• Implement non-blocking operations using asyncio and Uvicorn.
• Manage database connection pools and optimize backend performance.

2. LLM Evaluation & Regression Testing

• Develop deterministic LLM evaluation and regression testing pipelines.
• Validate model consistency, output quality, and structured response schemas using Pydantic.
• Monitor agent stability and identify inconsistencies in AI-generated responses.

3. Multimodal Data Processing

• Develop data ingestion pipelines for processing text, images, and videos.
• Handle media decoding, validation, extraction, and processing of unstructured data.
• Build reliable pipelines to transform multimodal inputs into structured data.

4. Agentic AI & Workflow Development

• Design and implement stateful, graph-based agent workflows.
• Develop multi-step agent execution processes involving tool calling and state reconstruction.
• Handle hallucinations, prevent infinite loops, and improve agent reliability.
• Implement context-window and token management, including dynamic context pruning, summary compression, and retrieval optimization.

5. Data Ingestion & Quality Pipelines

• Build data extraction, validation, filtering, and cleansing pipelines.
• Convert raw web data into structured, high-quality inputs.
• Develop high-volume ingestion systems using request queues and API rate-limit handling.
• Implement failure management and Redis-based backpressure control.

6. Testing & Code Quality

• Develop comprehensive unit and integration test suites.
• Follow test-driven development practices.
• Write clean, modular, documented, and maintainable code.
• Focus on simplicity, readability, performance, and reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Python Backend Development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, FastAPI, asyncio, and Uvicorn.
• Experience building asynchronous and non-blocking backend services.
• Understanding of database connection pooling and API performance optimization.
• Experience with multimodal data processing, including images, videos, media buffers, and unstructured data.
• Hands-on experience with Pydantic and structured data validation.
• Strong understanding of data extraction, parsing, filtering, and cleansing.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Practical experience with Redis, API rate limiting, request queuing, and high-volume data ingestion.
• Experience building production AI/Agentic AI systems.
• Understanding of tool calling, hallucination handling, infinite-loop prevention, and context-window management.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
