Python developer

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a motivated Junior Python Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will build and maintain automation scripts, work with data pipelines, and contribute to API development. You will collaborate closely with senior developers and data engineers to deliver reliable, well-tested software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, write, and maintain Python automation scripts to streamline internal workflows and processes.
• Perform data manipulation, transformation, and analysis using pandas and NumPy.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
• Write clean, readable, and testable code following established best practices.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across scripts, data pipelines, and API services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of the codebase.
• Document scripts, APIs, and processes for maintainability and knowledge sharing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 12 years of hands-on experience with Python in a professional or project setting.
• Proficiency with data manipulation libraries — pandas, NumPy.
• Experience building or consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of Python fundamentals: data structures, OOP, error handling, and modules.
• Familiarity with version control using Git (branching, pull requests, merge workflows).
• Ability to write unit tests and maintain code quality using tools such as pytest.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a team environment.

GOOD TO HAVE

• Exposure to AWS cloud services, particularly Lambda (serverless functions) and Fargate (container orchestration).
• Experience with containerisation using Docker — building images, writing Dockerfiles, and running containers locally.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, or similar).
• Basic understanding of AWS IAM, S3, or CloudWatch for observability and access management.
