About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Python Backend Developer to join our cloud engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and ETL workflows that power mission-critical applications. You will collaborate closely with globally distributed engineering teams, including stakeholders based in the US, to deliver secure, high-performance, and cloud-native solutions.

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Python backend development, microservices architecture, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud technologies. This is a backend engineering role requiring hands-on development experience and should not be confused with a DevOps position.

Key Responsibilities :

1.

Backend Development :

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python.
• Build robust, reusable, and maintainable RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following engineering best practices.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

2. API &

• Microservices Development :
• Develop secure REST APIs for enterprise applications.
• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures.
• Integrate backend services with internal and third-party applications.
• Ensure API security, authentication, and authorization standards.

3. ETL &

• Data Processing :
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines for processing structured and unstructured data.
• Automate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Improve data quality, processing efficiency, and workflow reliability.

4. Kubernetes &

• Containerization :
• Deploy and manage containerized applications on Kubernetes clusters.
• Build and maintain Docker containers for development and production environments.
• Work with Kubernetes deployments, services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and scaling strategies.

Cloud Engineering :

• Develop cloud-native applications following modern architecture principles.
• Work with AWS services such as Amazon EKS, Amazon S3, and related cloud components.
• Ensure applications are optimized for scalability, availability, and performance.

6. Collaboration &

• Agile Development :
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and product managers.
• Participate in peer code reviews and mentor junior developers where required.
• Coordinate effectively with US-based engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.

7. Quality &

• Best Practices :
• Write unit tests and integration tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Follow secure coding standards and software engineering best practices.
• Maintain technical documentation for developed solutions.

Required Skills :

• Python, Backend Development, REST API Development, Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, ETL Development, Git/GitHub, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SQL, Linux, API Integration.

Preferred Skills :

• AWS Cloud, Amazon EKS, Amazon S3, Cloud-Native Development, CI/CD Pipelines, Messaging Systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ), PostgreSQL/MySQL, NoSQL Databases, FastAPI / Flask / Django, Distributed Systems.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Python backend development.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable application architecture.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Industry Experience :

• Candidates from the following industries are preferred : Product-Based Companies, SaaS, Cloud Computing, FinTech, Enterprise Software, Technology Consulting, E-commerce.

Important Note :

This is a Backend Development role focused on Python application development, REST APIs, and cloud-native engineering. Candidates with only DevOps or infrastructure experience without strong backend development expertise will not be considered.
