Python Test Engineer - Automation Testing

About the Role :

We are looking for a skilled Python Test Engineer / Python Automation Tester with 4 - 8 years of experience in developing robust automation frameworks and validating enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Python, PyTest, UnitTest, Selenium/Playwright, API Testing, SQL, ETL validation, and Git. You will be responsible for designing automated test solutions, improving test coverage, and ensuring high-quality software delivery in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Analyze business and functional requirements to create comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test cases.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Python.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks using PyTest, UnitTest, Selenium, Playwright, or Robot Framework.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and system testing.
• Perform API testing and backend database validation using SQL.
• Automate ETL/data validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using defect management tools.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA teams to resolve issues.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain version control using Git and contribute to continuous quality improvements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Mandatory Skills :

• 4 - 8 years of experience in Python Automation Testing.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Hands-on experience with PyTest and UnitTest.
• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, or Robot Framework.
• Strong knowledge of API Testing.
• Good SQL skills for backend/database validation.
• Experience in ETL/Data Validation Testing.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have :

• Experience with Azure or AWS.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Experience using JIRA, ALM, or similar defect management tools.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.

Preferred Candidate Profile :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience building reusable automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of software quality engineering best practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within Agile teams.
