Senior PHP Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our Research & Development team and play a key role in building and scaling enterprise-grade, cloud-based SaaS products used by global customers. This role requires a hands-on Technical Lead who actively contributes to design and development while guiding teams technically. This is not a programming/project managementonly role; strong coding ownership is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop scalable SaaS applications using PHP
• Lead backend development of core systems, APIs, and business logic
• Act as a hands-on technical lead, setting coding standards and best practices
• Mentor developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and problem-solving
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams to deliver features end-to-end
• Participate in architectural decisions, performance optimization, and technical roadmap planning
• Analyze and resolve complex production and system-level issues
• Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to improve platform quality

Required Skills & Experience

• 8 years of strong PHP development experience with modern frameworks
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead in a product-based environment
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React or Angular
• Proficiency with PHPStorm and Git-based workflows

• Shell scripting, Node.js
• Startup or SaaS product experience
• Engineering degree preferred
