Role Overview :
We are looking for a Backend Python Developer to design, develop, and scale backend systems that power our products and platforms. The role requires strong database engineering expertise, particularly in Azure SQL, with a focus on query performance, optimization, and database design. You will work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to build reliable, secure, and high-performing APIs and services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python
- Build scalable, high-performance systems using frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and asynchronous services where required
- Design and optimize database structures in Azure SQL and other relational databases
- Create and manage Views, Indexes, and Stored Procedures for performance optimization
- Analyze query execution plans and optimize complex SQL queries for high performance
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Ensure code quality, performance, security, and scalability
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with proper documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize both application and database performance bottlenecks
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
Required Skills &
Qualifications :
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Strong proficiency in Database - rdbms, Azure Data Pipeline.
- Experience with backend frameworks : Django / Flask / FastAPI
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and backend architecture
Core Database Expertise (Must-Have) :
- Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database
- Strong proficiency in SQL including :
- Views
- Indexes (clustered, non-clustered, performance tuning)

- Expertise in Query Optimization :
- Query planning and execution analysis
- Performance tuning using execution plans
- Identifying bottlenecks and optimizing large-scale queries
- Strong experience in designing efficient and scalable database schemas
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices
- Ability to work in an agile, fast-paced environment
Good to Have :
- Experience with AWS cloud platform
- Exposure to Docker, containers, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with async programming, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), or background workers (Celery)
- Understanding of microservices architecture
- Previous experience in data, AI, or analytics-driven platforms
