About the Role :
The Senior Software Engineer will develop, test, and support high quality software in a collaborative work environment, leveraging continuous integration, and delivery practices.
This individual will be involved in all aspects of development for the Shared Services Team within our powerful Watermark suite of products, focused on building out new and existing features over time.
They will be a fully engaged member of the US-based Scrum team and will collaborate with the developers in the US and India.
Responsibilities :
- Develop, test, and support software solutions.
- Understand the tenets of Scrum and apply them to the software development process.
- Apply clean code practices through regular refactoring.
- Understand, identify and work to reduce technical debt.
- Collaborate with other Software Engineers to understand and provide input on architectural and design requirements.
- Collaborate with other Software Engineers through peer reviews and pair programming.
- Help to define patterns or best practices for the team.
- Mentor junior talent.
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Experience building software solutions using object-oriented design and/or functional programming.
- Experience developing secure, scalable, and highly available web applications.
- Experience with Elixir, Elm, or other functional languages is a plus.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and JS.
- Experience with HTTP, REST, JSON.
- Familiar with accelerated development using AI Tools like Claude, Cursor, Gemini.
- Familiar with SQL.
- Familiar with AWS or other cloud technologies is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of professional experience building software solutions.
