Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack Development

ROLE OVERVIEW :

The Senior Software Engineer Full Stack is accountable for end-to-end feature delivery across React and C# within a scrum team. The role demands production-level competence on both layers not specialisation in one with surface-level exposure to the other. The SSE Full Stack owns vertical slices from data model to UI, defines API contracts, and maintains code quality across the full stack without creating inter-layer hand-off dependencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Deliver complete vertical slices : own a feature from data model to React UI.
• Build React UIs : component design, state management, API integration, performance optimisation, and accessibility basics.
• Build C# backend services : REST APIs, service layers, data access patterns, and business logic production-grade from the start.
• Define API contracts : collaboratively agree the shape of requests and responses with the team before implementation begins.
• Write comprehensive tests : frontend and backend coverage is not optional.
• Participate in architecture and design : contribute cross-layer perspective that pure specialists cannot offer.
• Review code across the stack : provide meaningful feedback on both React and C# PRs.
• Identify and resolve integration issues : debug across the full stack without needing another engineer to localise the problem.

MUST-HAVE SKILLS &

EXPERIENCE :

• 3-5 years of software engineering with demonstrable production experience in both React and C#.
• React depth : functional components, custom hooks, Context API or state management libraries, rendering optimisation.
• TypeScript proficiency : strong typing across React components and service interfaces.
• C# and .NET 6/8 : service layer architecture, dependency injection, async/await, Entity Framework Core or Dapper.
• REST API design on both sides : building APIs in .NET and consuming them in React cleanly.
• SQL fundamentals : schema design, joins, query optimisation, understanding of ORM-generated queries.
• Testing discipline on both layers : component tests in Jest, API and integration tests.
• Track record of working in active scrum teams with sprint delivery accountability.

NICE TO HAVE :

• Azure cloud experience : App Service, Application Insights, deployment pipelines.
• AI feature development : integrating LLM APIs into product features or building AI-assisted UI workflows.
• Use of AI coding assistants in a professional context : can articulate where they help and where they need supervision.
