Company Profile Simplotel is a Bangalore-based, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company helping over 3,000 hotels across 26 countries grow their direct business.

We are powering e-commerce for some of the largest hotels in India. Simplotel is a Shopify for Hotels, was founded in October 2013, and is funded by Go-MMT - Indias largest Online Travel Agency.

Position : Manager - Engineering Were looking for an Engineering Manager with a proven track record of leading software development teams to accelerate innovation of our SaaS offering.

Adept at planning, resource allocation, and fostering a collaborative work environment to drive projects to success. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a passion for mentoring team members, and strong process skills to ensure high quality delivery of product.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Build, train, and manage a strong team of engineers. Monitor performance and mentor the team to ensure high-quality work.
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices, standards, and processes to optimize productivity and quality assurance.
• Collaborate closely with product management and design teams to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations.
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to coding standards, and security protocols.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on your products and recommending strategic enhancements.
• Define project milestones, allocate resources effectively, and monitor progress to mitigate risks and ensure timely delivery.
• Lead efforts to ensure the security and compliance of our systems, including data protection, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement to maximize project success.
• Create and maintain the technical vision and architecture for our global SaaS offering.

Qualifications

• 8 - 14 years of progressive experience in software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript technologies (e.g., Django, Flask, React.js, Node.js) and familiarity with modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, etc.).
• Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to build, mentor, and motivate high-performing engineering teams. Ability to define and monitor processes.
• Demonstrated experience in independently running engineering functions, from project planning to execution and delivery.
• Understanding of infrastructure and running a product as a service to ensure high availability and scalability of our SaaS product.
• Team player with good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
