Software Engineer - Full Stack React & Node JS Developer

We are seeking a Full Stack React & Node JS Developer with strong hands-on experience in React, Node.js, Express.js, and SQL Server to join our product engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain modern web applications and backend services that power our industry-leading local government solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and test scalable software solutions using React, Node.js, Express.js, and SQL Server.
• Develop and maintain web applications and backend systems, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
• Optimize application performance and enforce security best practices in web-based applications.
• Migrate data between legacy applications and modern web-based systems while ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Implement application enhancements and bug fixes while ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, write maintainable and tested code, and follow Agile practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, QA, support, and infrastructure to deliver quality solutions on schedule.
• Follow the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering through deployment and support.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of hands-on full-stack development experience with React, Node.js, Express.js, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong proficiency in React.js (hooks, state management, component design).
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.js building APIs, not just consuming them.
• Expertise in SQL Server schema design, stored procedures, and query optimization. SQL Server preferred; MySQL or PostgreSQL acceptable.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills with keen attention to details.

Must be able to trace bugs from UI through API to database.

• Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party integrations, authentication (JWT/RBAC), and Git-based workflows.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and software architecture principles.
• Ability to understand requirements and workflows.
• B.Tech / M.Tech degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.

Good to Have

• Experience with GIS technologies like ESRI ArcMap.
• Experience with payment platform integrations.
• Product development experience.
• Cloud awareness: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Performance optimization experience at scale.
• Production support and incident debugging experience.
• Exposure to government, finance, taxation, or compliance domains.
