We are seeking a Software Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in PowerBuilder development to support and enhance a legacy enterprise application. The role involves maintaining and improving a PowerBuilder-based desktop application with an Oracle backend, while also contributing to related Java-based services and integrations built on Java 8 and Java 11. The engineer will collaborate with development, QA, and support teams to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and ensure system stability and performance.

• *Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and enhance a legacy application developed in PowerBuilder with an Oracle database backend
• Develop and support backend components and integrations using Java 8 and Java 11
• Analyze and troubleshoot application issues across the UI, business logic, and database layers
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions with Oracle
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and release processes to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support ongoing modernization efforts

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience with PowerBuilder development
• Experience developing applications in Java (Java 8 or Java 11)
• Strong experience working with Oracle databases and SQL
• Ability to work with and support legacy systems while contributing to incremental improvements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred

• Experience with legacy system modernization initiatives
• Familiarity with version control systems and Agile development practices
