Write, rewrite, and optimize SQL code including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and complex queries as part of migrating from MS SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
Handle the migration work that tools can't do automatically, which involves manual SQL development and logic conversion.
Transform and validate data during migration to make sure it moves correctly from the old system to the new one.
Work with the team to understand existing database logic and rewrite it to work properly in PostgreSQL.
Test the migrated SQL code thoroughly and fix any issues that come up during or after migration.
Skills & Experience :
Strong hands-on SQL development experience writing and rewriting stored procedures, functions, and data transformation logic is a must.
Good working knowledge of both MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL, especially the differences in SQL syntax and behaviour between the two.
Experience with MS SQL to PostgreSQL migration projects is a must
Ability to read and understand existing database code and convert it accurately to work in a new environment.
Database administration knowledge is a bonus, but this role is primarily about SQL development.
