Technical Manager - Embedded System

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Manager to lead our Embedded Hardware and Firmware teams. The role involves technical leadership, architecture ownership, problem-solving, reviews, mentoring, and ensuring high-quality delivery of electronics used in servo drives, VFDs, and motion control products. This is an engineering-driven role, not just people management.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical & Architecture Leadership :

• Own end-to-end embedded hardware firmware architecture.
• Define technology roadmaps for MCU/SoC, power management, RTOS, and toolchains.
• Make decisions balancing performance, cost, reliability, and cybersecurity.
• Act as technical escalation point for complex HWFW issues.

Hands-on Engineering Contribution :

• Participate in hardware schematic/layout and firmware design/code reviews.
• Support prototype bring-up and debugging using oscilloscope and JTAG/SWD.
• Drive root-cause analysis for field, EMC, and reliability issues.

Embedded Hardware Leadership :

• Guide MCU/SoC-based designs, analog/digital circuits, and power supplies.
• Ensure EMC/EMI-compliant design, component selection, derating, and reliability.
• Oversee verification and environmental testing.

Embedded Firmware Leadership :

• Lead development of low-level drivers, RTOS/bare-metal firmware, bootloader, secure boot, and firmware update mechanisms.
• Lead implementation of communication protocols (EtherCAT, CAN, PROFINET, IO-Link).
• Ensure adherence to cybersecurity practices (IEC 62443).

Cross-functional Collaboration & Team Guidance

• Work with Controls, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety & Cybersecurity teams.
• Ensure alignment of requirements, interfaces, verification, and certifications.
• Mentor hardware and firmware engineers; build strong engineering culture and review processes.
• Enforce documentation, change management, and quality practices.

Must-Have Technical Skills :

• MCU/SoC hardware design, analog/digital circuits.
• Power management, EMC/EMI fundamentals, PCB design and layout review.
• Embedded C, RTOS/bare-metal development.
• Debugging with JTAG/SWD and oscilloscopes.
• Industrial communication protocols EtherCAT, CAN, PROFINET, IO-Link.
• 12 - 18 years in embedded hardware firmware development with hands-on industrial electronics experience.
• Prior role as Technical Lead / Architect / Hands-on Manager.

Good to Have :

• Motor control / drive systems.
• Cybersecurity (secure boot, crypto, IEC 62443).
• Functional safety (SIL2/SIL3).
• Automated testing / CI concepts.
