uEngage - Backend Developer - PHP/CodeIgniter

About the Role :

We are looking for a motivated Back End Developer with 1 to 2 years of experience to join our engineering team in Chandigarh. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in PHP, MySQL, and CodeIgniter, with a strong understanding of backend development principles. The candidate should also be proficient in leveraging AI-powered tools to enhance coding efficiency, debugging, and overall development productivity.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable backend applications using PHP and CodeIgniter (CI3 & CI4).
• Design, develop, and manage MySQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs with frontend applications and third-party services.
• Write clean, secure, reusable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Optimize application performance, database queries, and server-side logic.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues efficiently.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, designers, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• Stay updated with emerging backend technologies and industry best practices.

Required Skills :

• 1 to 2 years of experience in Backend Development.
• Strong proficiency in PHP.
• Hands-on experience with CodeIgniter 3 (CI3) and CodeIgniter 4 (CI4).
• Strong knowledge of MySQL Database design, optimization, and query writing.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Understanding of MVC architecture and backend design principles.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
• Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

AI Expertise :

• Hands-on experience using AI-powered development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, Windsurf, or similar.
• Ability to utilize AI for code generation, debugging, documentation, testing, code optimization, and improving development workflows.
