About the Role :
We are seeking a permanent Full Stack Engineer to build and evolve core application services and user-facing workflows within the Commerce Capabilities platform.
This role is backend-leaning and focuses on integrating with existing WPP systems and building scalable services that enable platform workflows and automation.
You will work in a cross-functional engineering team (alongside solution architects, product owners, and other engineers) to deliver reliable, production-grade features and integrations that support Commerce Capabilities roadmap and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities :
1.
Backend
Services & Integration (Primary) :
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript practices.
- Build and integrate APIs to connect Commerce Capabilities with existing WPP systems and services.
- Develop and optimize serverless components in a cloud environment.
2.
Workflow
Enablement & Automation :
- Build platform workflows that reduce manual effort and enable scalable execution.
- Support initiatives moving from manual deployments to automated launch processes.
3.
Full Stack
Delivery :
- Deliver end-to-end changes across backend, API, and frontend layers when required.
- Contribute to frontend development where needed (frontend is beneficial but not the primary focus).
4. Quality & Standards :
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD workflows, and technical documentation.
Required Skills &
Experience :
- 5 years professional software engineering experience.
- Strong Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript expertise.
- Proven experience integrating complex systems via APIs.
- Experience working with cloud/serverless environments.
- Strong testing discipline and modern development practices.
Desirable Skills :
- Experience with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, EventBridge, API Gateway, S3).
- Frontend experience with modern frameworks (React, Vue, etc.).
- Familiarity with event-driven or microservice architectures.
- Experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as PIM/DAM or internal ecosystems.
